Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune, in collaboration with Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, celebrated Guru Purnima – Vyas Poojan on 10th July 2025, honouring the eternal bond between Guru and student. Themed “From Maharshi Vyasa to AI and the Guru: The Present Scenario”, the event was marked by profound insights, spiritual reverence, and heartfelt tributes.
Distinguished speakers included Mr. Kapil Pandey, Associate Vice President, Zensar Technologies; Prof. Ram Prakash Sharma, NIT Arunachal Pradesh and Vice President, Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal; and Prof. Anjali Sharma, Rajasthan Central University. The ceremony began with sacred shlokas and lamp lighting, followed by a series of impactful speeches highlighting the irreplaceable role of the Guru—even in an AI-driven era.
Speakers emphasized that while AI offers tools, only a Guru instills values, wisdom, and emotional intelligence. Quoting Sant Kabir, the importance of a Guru in spiritual and personal transformation was movingly recalled.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain expressed gratitude to the speakers and faculty, affirming that teaching is not merely a profession but a mission. The program concluded with felicitation of guests and contributors, and a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Vijay Kulkarni.
