Ajeenkya D Y Patil University (ADYPU) hosted an inspiring Expert Session and MoU Exchange Ceremony on the theme “From Cosmic Order to Constitutional Ethics — Re-imagining Universal Well-Being through Indian Knowledge Systems” on Monday, 3 November 2025, at the University’s Mini Auditorium.
Organized by the School of Liberal Arts (SOLA) in collaboration with the International Centre for Cultural Studies (ICCS), Bharat, the event marked a milestone partnership to strengthen academic exchange, interdisciplinary research, and cultural dialogue rooted in India’s timeless wisdom.
The session opened with a warm welcome by Assistant Professor Bindiya Naik, who set the tone for the discussion by highlighting the global relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and their contemporary resonance in education and governance. This was followed by a detailed introduction to ICCS — a globally active organization working across more than 40 countries to advance indigenous knowledge systems, cultural exchange, and intercultural understanding.
Distinguished guests included Shri Sandip Kavishwar, Organisation Secretary, ICCS Bharat, and Commodore (Retd.) Srikant Deshmukh, President, ICCS Pune Chapter. Shri Kavishwar’s keynote explored the Vedic concept of Rta (cosmic order) and its reflection in modern constitutional ethics, while Commodore Deshmukh offered insights into the strategic, ethical, and global significance of IKS.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain, Vice-Chancellor, ADYPU, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the vision of Viksit Bharat and the need to harmonize innovation with the Indian ethos. The formal signing of the MoU between ADYPU and ICCS Bharat marked the beginning of a collaborative journey focused on IKS-based research, documentation of indigenous communities, cultural exchange, and joint publication opportunities.
The program was led and coordinated by Assistant Professor Bindiya Naik and Assistant Professor Kedar Dhananjay Kulkarni, with strong support from Dr. Amit Jadhav, Eden Lobo, and Assistant Professor Manish Kumar. Their collective efforts ensured the event’s academic depth and successful execution.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sunny Thomas, Dean, School of Liberal Arts, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to the dignitaries and reaffirmed ADYPU’s dedication to holistic, value-driven education that bridges Bharatiya wisdom with contemporary innovation.
Together, ADYPU and ICCS Bharat move toward a shared vision of an empowered, ethical, and Viksit Bharat rooted in Indian Knowledge Systems and cultural continuity.
