The hands-on session equipped students and faculty with cutting-edge skills in protein modeling, SAR, PROTACs, ADMET predictions, and more, enhancing their expertise in computational drug discovery.
On 25th April 2025, the Department of Biotechnology at Ajeenkya DY Patil University organized an Advanced Workshop on Molecular Docking, Virtual Screening & Drug Discovery Tools. The session was expertly conducted by Dr. Surojit Sadhu, CEO of Advent Informatics Pvt. Ltd., a renowned name in the field of computational biology and drug design.
The workshop was designed to provide both students and faculty with an in-depth understanding of the latest tools and techniques used in silico drug discovery. Dr. Sadhu guided the participants through a detailed hands-on session that covered essential concepts such as protein modeling, structure-activity relationships (SAR), PROTACs (Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras), and ADMET (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity) predictions.
Participants had the opportunity to explore and work with advanced software platforms and real-world datasets, gaining practical experience that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry applications. The workshop emphasized the growing relevance of virtual screening and molecular docking in modern drug discovery pipelines and equipped attendees with the skills required to carry out preliminary computational screening of potential drug candidates.
