Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU) and Youth20 recently co-hosted a Youth Festival centered on the theme ‘Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills’. The event emphasized the necessity of global collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of work.
Dr. Ajeenkya DY Patil, President of ADYPU, emphasized the potential for global collaboration among the youth, citing the role of technology in driving a future once confined to science fiction. Dr Anirban Ganguly, Chairman of the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, lauded ADYPU’s societal vision and its contribution to national growth.
Highlighting the opportunities for youth, Dr Sudhir Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director of Pinnacle Industries, emphasized the transformative role of innovative technologies in India’s rapid global ascendancy. Meanwhile, Prof. Hrridaysh Deshpande, Vice Chancellor of ADYPU, underscored the festival’s aim to foster global awareness and encourage critical thinking among the youth.
Minister of State for Culture in India, Meenakshi Lekhi, stressed the pivotal role of youth during India’s G20 Presidency and their contribution to nation-building. The festival included engaging workshops on diverse topics, including upcycling, augmented reality, and Vedic mathematics, as well as a fireside chat with Scientist Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar on ‘Innovation in Education’.
The three-day event also featured discussions on crucial topics such as the role of universities in shaping the future of work, nurturing startups and scale-ups, and the empowerment of women in entrepreneurship. These discussions highlighted the significance of equipping young individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever-evolving global landscape.
Moreover, the festival encouraged open dialogue, debate, and negotiation among the participants, promoting a culture of critical thinking and consensus-building.
