Student Research Convention

Ajeenkya DY Patil University hosted the Zonal Level (West Zone) of Anveshan 2023, a student research convention organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). With over 100 participants and mentors from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, the two-day event featured 65 innovative research ideas selected based on AIU guidelines. Prof. Hrridaysh Deshpande set the tone with an encouraging address, advocating for interdisciplinary research to address societal issues.

The inaugural session welcomed Air Vice Marshal, Dr. Rajesh Vaidya, VSM, who emphasized the importance of medical research, particularly focusing on tropical diseases in the Indian context. Dr. Dattatray Jadhav from the Directorate of Technical Education-Maharashtra motivated students to contribute to India’s startup ecosystem. Dr. Usha Rai Negi from AIU highlighted Anveshan’s role in promoting a research culture across various fields.

Dr. Biswajeet Champatty, the Convenor for the West Zone, expressed excitement about hosting the prestigious event, aiming to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation. Participants presented their proposals, and 15 winning ideas were shortlisted for the National Level Competition. The valedictory function was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Nibandhe, and Dr. Raj Gaurav Mishra, Zonal Convenor of the West Region, delivered the vote of thanks.
