Foundation Faculty

Role Overview

The Foundation Faculty will be responsible for teaching and mentoring first-year design students through interdisciplinary foundation studies. The role focuses on developing students’ visual thinking, creative problem-solving, material exploration, observational skills, and understanding of fundamental design principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach foundation-level subjects including Design Fundamentals, Visual Composition, Color Theory, Sketching & Visualization, Form Exploration, and Creative Thinking.
  • Conduct studio-based learning and hands-on workshops.
  • Mentor students in concept development and portfolio building.
  • Develop assignments, evaluation rubrics, and learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary and collaborative projects.
  • Organize exhibitions, jury reviews, and foundation showcases.
  • Support curriculum development aligned with contemporary design education.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Design / Fine Arts / Visual Arts / Applied Arts or related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design pedagogy and studio-based teaching.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent drawing and visualization skills.
  • Knowledge of design thinking methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Experience 3-8 years of academic and/or industry experience preferred.
