Ishita Kulkarni

A graduate from London College of Fashion, UAL specializing in Costume Design for performance. She has extensive industry experience in leading costume design teams for mainstream and niche regional cinema. Owing to her international exposure and Indian roots of design education she has a balanced perspective of fashion and textiles which helps her impart a glocal approach to fashion education. Being a progressive designer, she strives to address critical issues of sustainability and climate change through her projects and constantly pushes boundaries to re-imagine innovative fashion practices for the Future. Her research interests include Costume history, sustainability in clothing and textile, and heritage textiles.

Apart from academics, she nurtures an interest in sports, wildlife, nature, travel and documenting the tangible and intangible heritage of India.
