ADYPU Hosts the First Ever Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) Meet in India

Pune:  Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU) and Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) had organized ‘AGI in India’ conference recently exclusively for graphic design community to promote the practices of graphic design in India.

Organized for the first time in India, the two-day global confluence featured world class graphic designers deliberating on the theme ‘Regional—The Present & Future of Graphic Design’– through interactive panel sessions, design workshops and a poster exhibition.

Speaking about the theme of AGI in India, is Dean Poole—International President—Alliance Graphique International, “Every region has its own unique cultural assets. The theme ‘Regional’ aimed to provide an opportunity for designers around the world to review how design can transform cultures for the future of mankind. For us, we chose to deliberate this theme in India—as Indian Kaleidoscope brings richness through graphic designs and other art forms.”

The two-day global design confluence featured a galaxy of world class graphic designers. Nikki Gonnissen (Netherlands), Taku Satoh (Japan), Dean Poole (New Zealand), Tommy Li (China), Evelynter Bekke (Netherlands), Dirk Behage (France), Sonia Manchanda & Sudhir Sharma (India) shared valuable insights during the conference.

Internationally acclaimed graphic designers duo of the famed Louvre Museum and French National Parks— Dirk Behage and Evelynter Bekke said, “Graphic design can be very surprising. It is not only about design, but it is a unique form of self-expression. It is about how we can change the boundaries of our realities and open our minds to the new world.”

This one of its kind international collaboration will strengthen the contemporary nature of our Design Programs at DYPDC School of Design—especially our Bachelors in Graphic Design Program. The Conference also showcased a Poster Exhibition which showcased the award-winning works of top-class graphic designers. Over 100 delegates and students from India and aboard participated with full enthusiasm and gained new insights. Graphic design enthusiasts had a great opportunity to get their design portfolios reviewed by world-renowned graphic designers.
