Dr Vaibbhavi Pruthviraj Ranavaade

An Educationist, researcher, and designer with 21+ years of experience, Dr. Vaibbhavi has been the founding H.O.D of premier design schools in India (Symbiosis Institute of Design, MIT Institute of Design, Pune and Pearl Academy, Mumbai).

She continues as an educational consultant for higher studies in Design education pan India. She has diverse research experience in the area of Semiotics of fashion, Indian fashion system, Slow fashion side of sustainable fashion, varied applied research for design projects.

Co-Founder and principal designer of slow fashion label “Vaibbhavi P”. The Label is about providing sustainable livelihoods to Indian craftsperson and promoting Indian textiles worldwide. She has presented papers at international conferences and published research in well-known journals. Her doctoral research with the title “A Semiotic Study of the Indian Sari” has garnered a lot of interest in the academic community as well as the Industry. She is also a guest keynote speaker and panelist at esteemed forums and her work and views have been published in national publications.
