Professor Anne Boddington

Professor of Design Innovation, Anne Boddington is Pro Vice Chancellor Research, Business and Innovation at Kingston University in South West London. Her role at Kingston is to develop research and stimulate innovation.

She has extensive senior leadership, management and governance experience working with the UK’s Research Councils (UKRI) and with the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). She has recently been appointed as Sub Panel Chair for Art & Design: History, Practice and Theory, for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.

Educated as an Architect and subsequently as a Cultural Geographer, Anne is a trustee of the Design Council, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and an affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

She was also Director of the University of Brighton’s Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning through Design (CETLD), a unique partnership between the University, the V&A, the Royal College of Art and the RIBA (2005-10). She served as a co-director of the Subject Centre in Art Design and Media for the Higher Education Academy (HEA) from (2009-12).

She served as the Chair of the Arts Research Panel for Fundacao para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia (FCT) Portugal (2017), and a panel member for the 2017 Research Review of Arts & Humanities for the Estonian Research Council, and the review of doctoral education for the Humanities for the Estonian Quality Assurance Agency (EKKA).

 
Dr Jeffrey M Priest

Dr. Priest received his Bachelor of Science degree (Biology, 1980) and Master of Science Education degree (1982) from the Florida Institute of Technology and Ph.D. (Zoology/Wildlife Biology, 1986) from Southern Illinois University.

During his 31 years at the University of South Carolina Aiken, Dr. Priest served in various leadership roles including the Director of the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center and Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

While serving as Director of the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center, Dr. Priest served as the Assistant Director of the South Carolina Statewide Systemic Initiative, which established 13 regional science and mathematics hubs throughout South Carolina.

As Dean, he oversaw the successful national accreditation of the School of Education by the National Council of Accreditation of Teacher Educators (now CAEP). As Provost, Dr. Priest helped to establish numerous degree programs, including the MBA, BS in Industrial Process Engineering, BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, and BS in Applied Computer Science (Applied Gaming, Cybersecurity).

During his career, Dr. Priest made over 50 presentations at national professional societal meetings. He also has received over $21 million in grants from organizations such as the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Education, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Dr. Priest has received a number of awards over his career including the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Science Awareness; South Carolina Science Council/South Carolina Hall of Science and Technology Helms Citation of Excellence Award; South Carolina Board of Education Award for significant contributions to public schools; and the National Wildlife Federation Environmental Conservation Fellow.

Upon his retirement, Dr. Priest received The Order of the Silver Crescent award which is the state of South Carolina’s highest civilian award for significant contributions, leadership, volunteerism, and lifelong influence within a region or community.

 
Dr Rakesh Afre

Dr Afre completed his M.Sc. (Physics with specialization in Energy Studies) from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Maharashtra and Ph.D. (Nanotechnology) from Nagoya Institute of Technology (NIT), Nagoya, Japan under guidance of Prof. Tetsuo Soga. After his M.Sc. he joined as a JRF at IIT Mumbai to work on Department of Science & Technology sponsored project entitled ‘Carbon nanomaterials for solar cell’ under the guidance of Prof Maheshwar Sharon (Department of Chemistry).

Later he moved to Japan to pursue his Ph.D. degree under Japan Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho). His doctoral studies were focused on ‘Synthesis of carbon nanotubes by renewable natural precursors’ in 2007. He accomplished a Ph.D. and continued his further research on organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices at NIT. Then he moved to Korean Research Institute of Chemical Technology (South Korea) for his next assignment to continue research on DSSCs and small molecule OPVs.

Furthermore, he moved to Flinders University (Australia) to continue his research on fabrication of transparent electrodes using nanomaterials for OPVs. Post his post-doctoral fellowship studies, he worked as a Professor at and then to Ethiopia as a Professor.

 
Dr Anand Khandwekar

Dr Anand has over twelve years of national and international experience in biomedical engineering, Biotechnology and Life Sciences. He brings in considerable experience in technology development and commercialization, working with start-up companies and is engaged in leading academic and research initiatives.

A post-doctoral fellow from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge), Dr Anand is instrumental in setting up the Symbiosis Health & Technology Park at Symbiosis International University. During his stint at Jaypee University of Information Technology (Solan), he has developed biomaterials & drug delivery laboratory. He has worked as a Research Scholar at Bhabha Atomic Research Center.

Dr Anand has published over 15 research articles in leading international journals of high repute. He is the peer reviewer for top-rated international journals like Journal of Bio-medical Materials Research (Wiley Publications), European Cells and Materials (Published by AO Research Institute Davos) and the likes.

For his research development, Dr Anand has several honors and awards to his credit. He is the recipient of DST-SERB Young Scientist Grant Award (2015) by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Besides

He has been awarded SIEMENS-DAAD Fellowship Awarded with Siemens Sandwich Scholarship to work at Max Bergmann centre, Dresden, Germany. He has received Travel Grant Award by the Department of Science and Technology for attending European Society of Biomaterials (ESB) conference in Lausanne (Switzerland) & Canadian Biomaterial Society (CBS) conference in Quebec City (Canada).

 
Dr K S R Murthy

Dr Murthy is a multidisciplinary legal academician with 17 year of academic experience as principal and faculty at various Indian universities. His areas of specialization are Arbitration and Conciliation, Consumer Protection, International Business Law and Constitutional Law.

He has special interest in Media law. In addition to his mainstream qualification in law, he has also earned a Master’s degrees in Astrology and another Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism. His doctorate is on ‘Jurisdictional Issues Relating to Internet Contracts – A Critical Study’ from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

He has authored three books which include ‘An Introduction to ADR Mechanism’, ‘Unfair Trade Practices’ and ‘Consumer Protection’. He has also published several legal articles in standard law journals. He has also worked as a consulting editor for international business law journal.

Her interest research areas lies in understanding the business dynamics & management techniques of media & communication industries, particularly in the cyberspace and understanding the insights of New Age Digital Audiences.

Her specialization areas are journalism, advertising, public relations, experiential communication, corporate communications and content publishing.

As a content consultant, she has strategized and executed content for leading national and international publishing firms. Her articles have been published in India’s leading newspapers, magazines and web portals. To her credit, she has edited two books and developed content for different industries and non-profit associations.
