The Doctoral Program stands as a beacon of academic excellence, providing a platform for aspiring scholars to engage in advanced research across diverse disciplines. The program is underpinned by stringent eligibility criteria, ensuring that the candidates admitted possess a strong academic foundation and the requisite qualifications for rigorous doctoral studies.

The eligibility criteria for obtaining the ADYPU Doctoral Fellowship are outlined with precision to ensure that candidates admitted into the fellowship program meet the necessary academic and regulatory standards. Below is a comprehensive breakdown of the eligibility requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC seven-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale, following the grading system of regulatory bodies).
  • ADYPU Ph.D. Entrance Test:
    • Successful appearance in the ADYPU Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) is mandatory.
    • Minimum score requirement: 60 percent marks in PET or a proven academic track record.
    • Additionally, candidates must participate in a Personal Interview & Research Aptitude Round with the Doctoral Research Committee.
  • NET and M. Phil Qualifications:
    • NET and M. Phil qualifications from a UGC-recognized university carry weightage in the assessment of the research proposal.
    • Candidates who have qualified for UGC NET/SET/SLET/GATE/M. Phil exams are exempt from the Ph.D. Entrance Test but must directly appear for the Personal Interview & Research Aptitude Round.
  • Existing Fellowships:
    • Candidates holding UGC/CSIR/ICSSR/DST Inspire or any other government Doctoral Fellowships, who have successfully appeared for the Personal Interview and qualified for the Ph.D. program at ADYPU, can pursue their Doctoral Research Work with ADYPU as Full-Time Ph.D. Scholars.
    • Fellowship recipients are required to pay the applicable Ph.D. fees. However, they are not eligible for additional doctoral fellowships.
  • Age Limit:
    • The candidate should not exceed 40 years of age on the last date of application.
    • An age relaxation of 5 years is granted for SC/ST/Persons with benchmark disability candidates.
  • Admission Process:
Qualifying the admission process, including the Entrance Test and Interview, does not guarantee the award of a fellowship to the candidate.
