Pro Vice-Chancellor

Location : Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune
    Key Responsibilities:
      1. Academic Leadership:
    • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the academic programs and departments of the university.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of academic policies and standards, ensuring they align with the university’s mission and goals.
    • Foster a culture of excellence in teaching, research, and service across the university.

      2. Administrative Oversight:
    • Assist the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day management of the university.
    • Lead and manage academic staff, ensuring effective performance management, professional development, and succession planning.
    • Oversee the development and administration of budgets for academic departments, ensuring financial efficiency and sustainability.

      3. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the university maintains high standards of academic quality and rigor through regular evaluation and enhancement of programs.
    • Lead efforts in accreditation, compliance, and regulatory reporting, ensuring adherence to national and international standards.

      4. Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to the university’s strategic planning process, particularly in areas related to academic growth, research, and innovation.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the university’s reputation and rankings at national and international levels.

      5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, industry partners, alumni, and the academic community.
    • Represent the university in external forums, conferences, and partnerships, promoting its interests and strategic priorities.

      6. Research and Innovation:
    • Promote and support a vibrant research culture within the university, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
    • Oversee the development and management of research initiatives, grants, and partnerships.

      7. Student Experience:
    • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality student experience, focusing on academic support, extracurricular activities, and career services.
    • Address student grievances and work to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

      8. Policy Development:
    • Lead the development and implementation of university policies related to academic affairs, research, and student services.
    • Ensure policies are regularly reviewed and updated in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications:
    • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
    • Extensive experience in academic leadership, preferably at the level of Dean or higher.
    • A strong track record of research and scholarship.
    • Proven ability to manage complex organizations and lead change.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
    • A deep commitment to academic excellence and student success.

    Desirable Attributes:
    • Experience in strategic planning and policy development in an academic setting.
    • Knowledge of higher education trends, challenges, and opportunities in India and globally.
    • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
    • Experience with accreditation processes and quality assurance in higher education.
