    Key Responsibilities:
      1. Academic Leadership and Vision:
    • Provide leadership and direction for all academic programs, ensuring they are aligned with the university’s mission, values, and strategic objectives.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality and reputation of the university’s academic offerings.
    • Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement among faculty and students.

    2. Curriculum Development and Management:
    • Oversee the design, development, and review of the university’s curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and student needs.
    • Ensure that academic programs are regularly updated to reflect advancements in the field and emerging trends in education.
    • Promote interdisciplinary and experiential learning opportunities across academic programs.

    3. Quality Assurance and Accreditation:
    • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain accreditation from relevant national and international accrediting bodies.
    • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure academic standards are consistently met.
    • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of academic programs to identify areas for improvement.

    4. Faculty Development and Support:
    • Oversee faculty recruitment, retention, and development, ensuring that the university attracts and retains high-caliber educators.
    • Provide support and resources for faculty professional development, including opportunities for research, scholarship, and teaching innovation.
    • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among faculty members across disciplines.

    5. Student Academic Success and Support:
    • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance student retention, progression,and academic success.
    • Ensure the availability of academic advising, mentoring, and support services to assist students in achieving their educational goals.
    • Address student concerns related to academic matters and work to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

    6. Academic Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement academic policies and procedures that promote fairness, consistency, and academic integrity.
    • Ensure that academic policies are communicated effectively to faculty, students, and staff.
    • Regularly review and update academic policies to reflect changes in educational best practices and regulatory requirements.

    7. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Oversee the design and implementation of assessment strategies to measure student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
    • Use assessment data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in academic programs.
    • Ensure compliance with external assessment and evaluation requirements.

    8. Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with other Deans, department heads, and administrative staff to ensure cohesive and integrated academic operations.
    • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including industry partners, academic institutions, and government agencies, to enhance academic offerings.
    • Represent the university in academic forums, conferences, and professional associations.

    9. Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage the academic budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support teaching, learning, and academic initiatives.
    • Oversee the acquisition and utilization of academic resources, including library collections, technology, and learning materials.
    • Advocate for necessary resources to support academic programs and initiatives.

    10.Innovation in Teaching and Learning:
    • Promote the adoption of innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology and online learning platforms.
    • Encourage faculty to engage in pedagogical research and share best practices in teaching and learning.


    Qualifications:
    • A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant academic discipline.
    • Extensive experience in academic leadership, preferably at the level of Department Head, Associate Dean, or Dean.
    • A strong record of teaching, research, and scholarly achievement.
    • Proven ability to lead curriculum development and academic program enhancement.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

    Desirable Attributes:
    • Experience in managing accreditation processes and quality assurance in higher education.
    • Strong understanding of current trends in higher education, including online learning, competency-based education, and experiential learning.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage complex academic operations.
    • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic programs and the university community.
