The B. Tech Computer Engineering (Information Systems) specialization combines aspects of computer science and business management to prepare students to solve complex business problems through the application of technology solutions.
Businesses are undergoing massive transformation owing to data mining and analysis, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. This program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage this transformation.
Students who complete this course will be able to lead large-scale change management in business organizations.
The curriculum for this specialization covers modules such as database design and management, data mining and analysis, business intelligence, information security, etc.
Students completing this course will be well-equipped to design and manage large-scale business information systems. Students typically find opportunities to work as Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Systems Architect, Network Architect, Database Administrator, Data Scientist, etc. A degree in Information Systems cannot also be a beneficial stepping stone for students interested in careers in cybersecurity and machine learning.
