Ajeenkya DY Patil University School of Architecture understands Architecture as the discipline responsible for the design of the built environment. Hence, the school focuses on interdisciplinary learning of engineering, design, construction, urban planning, environmental science, sociology, and history to enable logic, rationale, and creativity in students.
Ajeenkya DY Patil University School of Architecture’s program is designed to equip students to address the challenges facing contemporary architecture. The program has been designed with a unique emphasis on urbanism, sustainable design, and conservation.
The four-year curriculum comprises of a combination of theory and practice which covers building practices, integrated architectural solutions, technical skills, and critical thinking.
The program covers a range of modules such as architectural design, building technology, computer-assisted modeling, development of urban landscape, history of architecture, nature conservation, etc.
At the end of the course, students can pursue a licensed architecture practice as qualified architecture. The program aims to prepare students to address the next generation of urban and architectural challenges.
Students completing this course will be able to pursue their own practice as an architect. Students are equipped with making modern urban architectural decisions keeping in mind heritage structures, nature conservation, conservation of built structures, etc. Thus, many architecture graduates also find opportunities with government and not-for-profit organizations as heritage inspectors, conservation officers, landscape engineers/architects, etc. Other job titles include corporate architect, interior designer, construction manager, town planner, etc.
