Deepankar Bhattacharyya

    He has keen interest in design thinking, its methods, processes and concerns. He studies and conducts research on design thinking and writes on design issues. He is a strategic design consultant and educator. He is interested in discovering user-centered problems and processes to solve them to create opportunities using design thinking as a strategic tool. He uses design thinking to define problems, develop and execute creative solutions in order to overcome systemic challenges.

    He is an alumnus of National Institute of Design, Ahemedabad where he studied design during his undergraduate program. He is a member of Academic Council at Ajeenkya D Y Patil univerisity. He has participated in a number of projects related to design as a design consultant in his career. He worked with a few great names in industry like Ivan Chermayeff (Chermayeff & Geismar), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, National Wastelands Development Board, Dandi Memorial Project, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.


Alex Velasco

    Alex is a product design instructor who has been teaching new product development and design processes for over 20 years. He has taught at higher education institutions in the UK, Turkey, India and Georgia, where he was a Programme Director and helped found the International Design School at Georgian Technical University. Alex customizes design methods and innovation processes to help designers and teams involved in new product development arrive at innovative and feasible solutions.

    Alex studied industrial design in Johannesburg (1986) and he attained a Master of Arts in Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London (1994) as a Gulbenkian scholar. He has worked as a professional and consultant industrial designer for clients in the technology, telecoms, and consumer product sectors in South Africa, Portugal, the UK and Turkey. As a Portuguese national, Alex speaks fluent English and Portuguese.


Bhavin Mali

    Bhavin earned his degree in mechanical engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering affiliated to Mumbai university and completed his further education in design from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad where he earned his postgraduate degree in design and became an industrial designer by profession. With over 10 years of real-life experience in automotive and design industries, he has worked with companies like Maruti Suzuki, Godrej & Boyce, Elephant Strategy+Design, REVA Electric Car Company and YO bikes electric vehicles. He has handled various positions ranging from sales executive to quality engineer to industrial designer.

    Bhavin is a product designer with special affinity for 'green' products and services and he is passionate about transportation system, from vehicles to the whole supporting infrastructure. His hobbies are blogging and photography.


Mayank Bhandari

    Mr Mayank is a faculty for Postgraduate program in 'Transportation & Automobile Design' program at DYPDC Center for Automotive research & studies. He completed his design studies from the DSK ISD RUBIKA, PUNE and joined DYPDC in 2015 as the Faculty. With a great industry experience from the companies like Renault design India and Tata Motors where he performed as a part of commercial vehicle design team on developing the design language for the whole range of commercial vehicles; the team succeeded in developing the first-race truck in India.

    His core interest areas include sketching, design process, digital rendering and 3D Modelling.  He also guides students in interior as well as exterior design projects. With other seniors in the department, he has been instrumental in establishing the Transportation and Automobile Design Discipline at the college and he is successfully collaborating with various automotive industries and institutes.


Nallur Chandra Prasad

    He pursued his  dream  of  becoming  an  automotive designer by taking up the  bachelors  course  in  Transportation Design  offered  at  Istituto  Europeo  di Design(IED), one of the premier design schools in Turin, Italy.  During his college years, he won prestigious design projects sponsored by Azimut  Yachts and Aston Martin Motor company. Though he has been inundated with offers from internationally renowned automobile companies, his passion lies in pedagogy. His core interest areas include conceptualization, free hand and digital sketching and rendering, automobile design history, aesthetics and future mobility solutions. He has been guiding students in design projects since he joined the college as a full time faculty in 2010. Along with other senior faculty members, he has been instrumental in establishing the Automobile Design discipline in college.


Ashish Nar

    Ashish Nar has earned his MA (Master's degree) in car design from Domus Academy of the University of Wales. Before his postgraduate degree in car design, he completed his bachelor in engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He was also employed as Operations Executive at Nilkamal Limited in Mumbai. During his Master's program, he undertook a project with Renault Technocenter (Paris). He has been part of DYPDC since 2012.

    Ashish was judged as the runner up at Seatec-Targa Rodolfo Bonetto Infrastructure (Pleasure Port) Design Competition 2011 as well has won the Inter Collegiate Robotics Competition. Currently he is employed at DYPDC as a faculty.


Kushal Jadhav

    Mr. Kushal is an engineer in telecommunications and a postgraduate in Industrial Design. He began his career in design from MIT ID, Pune while studying Product design. He is a professional designer with 10 years of experience. His core expertise lies in materials and manufacturing processes, prototyping, electronic product design with newly found interest in design of urban farming systems.

    He has authored a research paper named 'Product Detailing in Product Life Cycle Management'. In the last decade, he has successfully handled many a responsibilitoes: he worked as a freelance consultant, visiting faculty, workshop incharge, head of the department, student counselor and a full-time faculty.  


Rakesh Sinha

    Mr. Rakesh Sinha has earned his Masters in Transportation Design from MITID Loni campus, Pune in 2012. He has worked for India's largest design studio Tata Elxsi in Bengaluru for five long years where he worked for national as well as international clients in the field of transportation design. He has worked on train design projects for Indian railways and various metro train projects in India and abroad. He has also worked on various projects for automotive makers in India and abroad. Some of his design work has featured in concept cars produced by Jaguar and Land rover. He conducted research work for JLR in automotive color and trim design based on Indian craft work.

    Recently he had the privilege to work with HAL (Hindustan Aeronautical Limited) to design the interior of their VIP class helicopter to be manufactured in India. In addition to his design work, he loves to travel, listen to music, paint and sketch.


Pramod Khadilkar

    Pramod Khadilkar has completed his M. Des from Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He is awaiting to defend his thesis titled as 'A Framework for Needs Analysis and Stakeholders' Behavioral Simulation for Design for the Base of the (economic) Pyramid (BOP)'

    He has two journal papers and two patents credited to his name. He has had about 7 years of industrial experience in Ashok Leyland Ltd. and General Motors India Pvt. Ltd. in designing commercial vehicles and personal transportation. In addition, He has around 1 year of academic experience in PES University, Bangalore.

    He loves writing one-act plays and poems. He is actively involved in Marathi Theatre and contributed to it with his 14 one-act plays which have been staged in various competitions. He has contributed to about 20 one-act plays in various ways as a director, actor, set-designer, and background manager.
