The Union Government in its 2018-19 annual budget has announced perhaps the world’s largest Health Protection Scheme providing a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year.
In its pursuit to complement Government of India’s initiative on Healthcare Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune is organising an International Program on the multidisciplinary theme “Healthcare and Wellbeing”. The program is being organised during July 26, 27 and 28, 2018. The program will bring together educators, thought leaders, providers, and innovators to explore, discuss, and be inspired by the growing field of integrated care.
There is a changing landscape in health care delivery systems characterised by a number of transformational changes—a shift away from a supply-driven system to demand-driven networks, away from physician-driven care to patient-centered care, from volume of services to value and patient outcomes achieved, and from fragmented healthcare systems to more integrated health care delivery.
Transformation is only possible with clear vision, audacious goals, innovation, and implementation of new policy and practice. The program will focus on innovative approaches and interdisciplinary solutions that foster health, wellbeing and stability. The deliberations at the program will seek to address the important question of how we can improve health outcomes and refocus on how we support those in the greatest need.
As an outcome of the program we hope to contribute to the development of a plan of action to revolutionize the delivery of healthcare in our country today and tomorrow.
