Mechanical Design is emphasized throughout the curriculum. This is the key differentiator of ADYPU Mechanical Engineering program. Design is integrated throughout the four-year course starting with two foundation design courses in first year. Design projects in each semester from second year onwards increase in scope with increasing complexity. The design component introduces students to formal design methods, application of CAD systems, and the professional aspects of engineering. The design project imbibes in the student professional aspects of engineering including teamwork, oral and written communications. The final year project builds on the previous year work and leads to a major design project of unique significance.
Students are imparted valuable computer experience right from first year itself. Students begin with programming language, CAD software and continue using computer applications throughout the curriculum. On the way, they learn mathematical modeling software, commercial software packages for CAD, spreadsheets, finite element analysis, and many such applications.
